1. Prepared draft memorandum on Allen Dulles' comments on CIG enabling

2. Received a request from Middle East-African
Branch, ORE, for permission for ORE Greek specialist to attend executive ses-
STATINTL sions of House and Senate Committees discussing the Greek situation. After
consultation with General "Wright and permission was denied on the
grounds that (a) we do not wish to request Congressional approval of our attend-
ing executive sessions when we would object to other agencies sending observers
to sessions before which CIG was appearing; (b) in view of the fact that CIG is
supposed to be in possession of all intelligence on this subject, it would not be
proper for-us to sit in, on the grounds that we wish to see what information
other agencies have; and (c), CIG does not wish to give the appearance of spying
on other agencies.
