STATINTL, 2. Checked with in Personnel, who interviewed
STATINTL was making $2600 on his last job, but dec ed to leave
his papers when asked if he would consider a salary less than the $4800 minimum listed
on his 57. He walked out with a remark about possibly trying again later on through
STATINTL a different channel. informed Mr. Baugh and Mrs. Mach in Senator Bald-
win's office of the si ua ion.

Senator Myers. Told him there eras no wora, rauti at he might call again tomorrow.

STATINTL - 4. Received call from who was referred by Rep. Sol Bloom, (D.,
N.Y. ), who s aid he had not received e app cation blanks sent him on 3.4 August.
Sent him others and told him to call for appointment when these had been completed.
5. Telephoned Mr. Fair, office of Senator Downey, that
had been written reject letter, but that application would be kept on file. STATINTL

6. Telephoned office of Leslie Biffle that had been written

STATINTL had been written rejection letter.
8. Received call from Miss Cron office of Rep. Carroll D. Kearns, (D.,Pa.),
STATINTL inquiring about case of who, she said, had received a telegram and
come down from Meadville, Pa., and asked to fill out lenghhy papers, etc., only to
be told that the job for which he had been considered wa s being filled by a woman.
STATINTL Learned from Personnel that the telegram ---(which - had ordered sent on
4 Aug)--had been sent on 11 Aug to his home in Hyattsville, where it was forwarded
STATINTL to Meadville. - came in yesterday -- 9 days later, and was told that the job
for which he was originally considered was being filled, but that he would be consi-
dered for another. Called the Congressman's office and, in the absence of Miss
STATINTL Cron, spoke to Miss Ryan. Explained about the telegram and the second job possi-
bility, adding that was in again this afternoon and seemed satisfied with
the second prospect.
