Miss Adams, Administrative Assistant to Senator McCarran, called to state that Senator McCarran was considering making a speech on the Floor attacking the Department of Justice's laxity in not pushing the case. I asked whether the Senator planned to refer to CIA covert personnel, and she said that she did not believe he would, and I urged her to make certain that no slip in this connection should occur.
