1. In connection with the request of Mr. Kamerick, Chief Clerk of
the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Mutual Security, for the ap-
propriate place in the Executive Branch where he could receive definite
information on East-West trade and Battle Act Enforcements, I informed
him that his calls should be to Mr. Kenneth Hansen in the Office of the
Director of Mutual Security. Prior to informing Mr. Kamerick of this
information (which had been coordinated with Messrs. Becker and Amory)
I informed of my meeting with Mr. Kamerick and the in-
formation e a er esired, and he agreed that he was the man to whom
