1. Some weeks ago Mr. Scott, of the staff of the Senate Appropriations
Committee, handed me extracts of a letter to Sen. Bridges which the
Senator had asked him to look into. The unknown author of the letter was

Upon his return from his trip abroad with Sen. Bridges, I handed Mr.
-Scott the reply of Mr.II Sen. Bridges then was reported to me by 25X1A
Mr. King of his staff to be quite angry that CIA had not furnished the reply
rather than but it is believed that this problem is being straightened 25X1A
out by Mr. King of the Senator's staff. In an event, Mr. King has asked
for six different issues of I ion behalf of the Senator, 25X1A
and the IO Division is forwarding them to Legislative Counsel for trans-
