1. Arrangements have been completed to debrief Congressman
Patrick Hillings on the subject of his recent trip to Central and
South America. The debriefing will take place at 0930 on 1 October
in the DCI's conference room. The DCI has indicated a desire to
talk briefly with Congressman Hillings while he is here.
2. General Betts informs me that the staff of the Kersten
Committee on Communist Aggression has made feelers through
RFE for the appearance of and that the Director has
indicated no objections. Genera e s agrees that this appearance
should be controlled by CIA and that therefore we will await any
formal requests which Chairman Kersten might make to RFE, who
in turn will inform us.
