1. In accordance with the approval of General Cabell, I showed
Senator Knowland the memorandum to Legislative Counsel, dated 18

2. Mr. Carpenter, counsel to the Senate Internal Security
Subcommittee, together with Mr. Mandel, Chief Researcher of the
Committee, were briefed in detail this morning about the background
