Thursday - 3 March 1955
1. Cong. Francis Walter (D. , Pa. ~ called upon the Director at the
latter`s invitation to discuss CIA relations with the Immigration Subcommittee
of the House Judiciary Committee, of which Mr. Walter is Chairman.
3. At the request of Sen. Douglas, I talked with who is
about to spend a year and a half overseas stud in eopolitics and traveling
around the ed e of the Iron Gurtain, of OO~C, talked further
with on the details of the trip.
4. I informed Mr. Sprankle, Deputy Clerk of the House Appropriations
Committee, that the Director would be prepared to testify on the CIA budget by
21 March. Mr. Sp rankle asked whether it would not be possible for him to
appear by approximately lp March, as the Subcommittee would like to et the
CIA hearin behind them
