7. The Joint Congressional Committee on Atomic Energy has set
up a special subcommittee on continental defense from atomic attack. The
Committee consists of 9 persons, including Generals Wedemeyer, Quesada
and LindbergJand former AEC Chairman Gordon Dean. CIA has been re-
quested to give this group a briefing and this will be done at 11 a. m. on
16 August by the Acting Director and
