After the introduction at the Sokolski Mill of the con-
tinuous beating of pulp. wMch passes from b-ater to
beater through channels made of stainless steel and
placed at an angle of 250. it was observed that the
amount of pitch deposited on tile Fourdrinier wire
decreased considerably. This phenomenon was
caused by a decrease of the temperature of the pulp
after beating from 55-600 to 30-450 and by the re-
