Telephone Conversation with Mr. Blanton 'of:
Houston Rotary re DDCI speech on 23 March
Mr. Blanton wanted and I said I would send bio sketch
out today...to be used in Rotary Newsletter prior to
date of speech, announcing same to Rotarians.
Mr. Blanton also suggested that he would get in touch with
local reporters and General Walters could spend a little time
with them answering questions. I advised Mr. Blanton that
I didn't believe the General would want any news conference
as such, that he usually has a question and answer period
with the group he is addressing, following his speech.
Mr. Blanton said .he would not set up anything but that
reporters may be present. I replied that I did not think
the General would object on that basis.
Mr. Blanton, at my request, will arrange for speech to be
taped (on cassette) for our use.
Mr. Blanton also asked that we call him for any help in
Houston and whether we-would. like him to meet DDCI at airport.
