The reactions of hexamethylcyclotriellazane and
octamethylcyclotetrasilazene in the presence of alkali
were studied, and it was shown that the reaction in
accompanied by the evolution d methane and formation
of "cyclolinear" polymers. Polymers with molecular (Chemistry-Organic,
chains comfWng the SI-N-Si bond, with m. p. up to TT, Y. 9, no. 12)
SW. and good solubility in benzene were synthesized.

The increase and relaxation of stresses in epoxy resin
ED-5 films in relation to their hardening temperature
was investigated by a visual optical method. Thermal
stresses arise at elevated temperatures. The relaxa-
tion of these stresses proceeds according to Shvedov's
equation. The relaxation periods depend upon the
