Excerpt from Journal
25 July 1958
Office of Logistics, called to say that the
GSA representatives who were to approach the congressional committee
on the transfer of the radio transmitters stated that they normally
would be in touch with Congressman Jack Brooks (D., Tex.) and his
brother, who is a staff man and who have been very helpful. Mr.
told them to deal with the people Mr. Warner had briefed and
if the suggestion were made that the Brooks be brought in they would
remind the ones they approached that this was a classified matter and
the fewer people informed the better. If pressure came on they were to
play it by ear. General Counsel said this was satisfactory.
