Mr. MEAnER introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Com-
mittee on Government Operations
A BILL
To amend the Budget and Accounting Act, 1921, to require
that full information concerning executive departments and
agencies be furnished congressional committees.
1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 That the Budget and Accounting Act, 1921, is amended (1)
4 by striking out section 315, (2) by redesignating section
5 314 as section 315, and (3) by inserting immediately after
6 section 313 the following new section:
7 "SEC. 314. Where any standing or select committee of
8 the Senate or of the House of Representatives having juris-
9 diction over legislation or appropriations for, or expenditures
10 of, any department, agency, or establishment in the execu-

tive branch of the Government, or any duly authorized sub-
committee or member thereof, requests any information from
any such department, agency, or establishment, such infor-
mation shall be furnished to such committee, subscommittee,
or member. For the purpose of carrying out this section,
such committee, subcommittee, or member shall have access
to and the right to examine any books, documents, papers,
or records of, or under the control of, any such department,
agency, or establishment."
