SUBJECT: Service During CPSU Conference
1. I'd like to extend sincere thanks to you and your staff for the
extraordinary assistance rendered us during the recently concluded 19th
All-Union CPSU Conference. Your cooperation in publishing a series of
supplements over five days allowed us to comprehensively report on
developments at this landmark political event in the Soviet Union, a
subject of intense interest throughout the Intelligence Community. The
fact that you were able to publish these lengthy supplements while
maintaining normal publication levels for our regular eight DAILY REPORT
volumes is all the more impressive.
2. We would like to offer special thanks tol who served
as our contact with P&PG. He was extremely helpful in coordinating the
publication of the supplements and in providing information necessary to
our planning process.
3. Due to your service-oriented approach, we were able to score two
firsts within the context of this event: The presentation of photographs
in the DAILY REPORT, and publication of the largest single volume in our
history.
