Over the- years, the Senate Select Committee. on Intelligence has
taken a. high interest in counterintelligence, and we have worked
to. improve this aspect of our nation's intelligence capability.'
However,, we note with some concern the lack of counterintelligence-
-information being provided to the Committee.
The Intelligence Oversight Act provides that our Committee shall
be kept "fully and currently informed" of all intelligence activities
of the. Intelligence Community. We would, therefore, be grateful,
if you would instruct.. appropriate members of your staff to provide
the. Committee. with information regarding these counterintelligence-
issues. Thank you for your consideration of this matter..
