Dear Barry:
You asked in your 17 November letter what were the chances of
the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investiga-
tion investigating recent leaks to the press that have us both
troubled.
We find no evidence within the Agency that the leaks have orig-
inated here. However, as you well appreciate we have a continuing
security program which constantly reviews any security threats from
within the Agency. Additionally, we have turned the matter over to
the FBI as required by Executive Order 12333, and I understand they
have same half dozen leaks
under investigation. I know the. FBI would be most interested
in your active interest and deep concern over these leaks, and suggest
you may want to tell them so.
