Dear Bill,
I am writing about the "Report on the National Intelligence
Estimates-B Team Episode Concerning Soviet Strategic Capabilities and
Objectives." This office, which is coordinating the DCI's comments,.
was working on a deadline which we believed had been extended to May 10,
but which we are told has now been moved back to May 4. It will not be
possible for us to get the DCI's comments to the Committee by that time.
We will send them as soon as possible. I would hope that the full
Committee will not act on this report until it has had time to study the
Director's comments.
