DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE
Intelligence Producers Council
Washington, D.C. 20505
MEMORANDUM FOR: Members, Intelligence Producers Council
FROM:
IPC 1992/89
30 May 1989
Chief, Intelligence Producers Council Staff
SUBJECT: Planning for Special IPC Conference

1. In consultation with the new chairman of the IPC--Stan Moskowitz--I
have begun planning a special two-day conference for IPC principals or their
designated alternates to be held at on 20-21 25X1
July 1989. This conference will be held in lieu of the Council's second STAT
quarter meeting.

2. As you know, we have accomplished much during the past 18 months.
However, the purpose of this conference is to examine the programs sponsored
by the Council, consider the major issues facing the production community, and
establish future goals and objectives that will further enhance our
effectiveness in fulfilling the broad Community mandate of the IPC.
3. Planning for an agenda is already under way, and, given the diversity
of IPC-sponsored activities, we probably have more to discuss than time will
allow. Still, we want to be sure that we are scheduling topics that you
consider most relevant. For this reason, I would ask that you let me know by
9 June 1989 any ideas you would like to see on the agenda. By that same date,
I also would like to know whether you or your alternate will be able to attend.
4. Food and lodging will be provided for all conference
participants, and we will disseminate further details regarding security,
administration, and transportation arrangements over the next few weeks.

25X1
5. The Staff is excited about the possibility of having the Council meet
together in an environment where we may discuss our issues of mutual concern
at greater depth. If you have any questions concerning this conference,
please give me a call.
