I believe it would be helpful to both our organizations if we were to meet to discuss the
common ground we have and ways in which we could be of mutual benefit. I say this because I
believe that a good portion of the work being done by IDA is relevant to your responsibilities as
Director of the Intelligence Community Staff.
With the above thought in mind, I invite you to visit IDA and discuss with me and other
senior persons in the organization our work, and to receive your views within the bound of "need
to know" about some of the key issues you are facing. I propose that our meeting be informal with
relatively few people present. I also hope that you will join me for lunch while you are here.
I will have my Special Assistant, Ms. Joan Santora, call your office soon to see if the idea
has some appeal to you and, if it does, to make the necessary arrangements.
