TIN SHIELD RADAR OUTSIDE OF THE SOVIET UNION. (SWN)

DAMASCUS AW RADAR FACILITY THE PROBABLE TIN

THE DEPLOYMENT OF THIS RADAR SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCES SYRIAN
EARLY WARNING AND GROUND CONTROL INTERCEPT AIR DEFENSE
CAPABILITIES. THE TIN SHIELD RADAR IS BELIEVED TO HAVE RANGE,
AZIMUTH, AND HEIGHT FINDING CAPABILITIES. IT MAY ALSO PROVIDE
A THREE DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY CAPABILITY. (SWN)
