1. SIGNIFICANCE: A PAYLOAD MATING OPERATION, WHICH IS PART OF THE
LAST MAJOR PHASE OF LAUNCH PREPARATIONS, APPEARS TO BE IN
PROGRESS. (SWN)
IN FAILURE (DEFSMAC S/DQ/446-83). (SWN)
2. REMARKS: AT 08172, A TRUCK CARRYING A DOMED APERTURE COVER
WITH SILO/MISSILE SYSTEM CHECKOUT (S/MSC) VEHICLES AROUND IT
WAS AT THE CLOSED SILO DOOR. THE DOMED APERTURE COVER
PREVIOUSLY HAS 13EEN ASSOCIATED WITH PAYLOAD-RELATED
OPERATIONS. AT 1045Z, A TYPE-IV WARHEAD VAN WAS ON THE
TURNAROUND SECTION OF THE APRON, A PROBABLE TRUCK-MOUNTED CRANE
WAS NEAR THE CLOSED SILO DOOR, AND THE TRUCK CARRYING THE DOMED
APERTURE COVER AND THE S/MSC VEHICLES WERE STILL PRESENT. THE
LAST LAUNCH OF AN SS-X-24 FROM THIS SILO ENDED 25X1
