SS-19 ICBM PRELAUNCH ACTIVITY
1. SIGNIFICANCE: A PROPELLANT LOADING OPERATION IS IN PROGRESS.
(SWN)
2. REMARKS: THE SILO DOOR IS OPEN, AND AN SS-19 MISSILE CANISTER
IS VISIBLE IN THE SILO. TWO FUEL MULTISYSTEM PROPELLANT
TRANSPORTERS (MSPT) ARE NEAR THE OPEN SILO. ONE OF THE FUEL
MSPT IS CONNECTED TO A PROPELLANT TRANSFER VEHICLE BY A HOSE,
AND A SECOND HOSE EXTENDS FROM THE TRANSFER VEHICLE INTO THE
SILO COMPLETING THE FUELING HOOK-UP. SIX ADDITIONAL PROPELLANT
SUPPORT VEHICLES ARE AROUND THE SILO, AND AN OXIDIZER MSPT IS
ON THE APRON TURNAROUND. THE LAST LAUNCH TO OCCUR FROM THIS
SILO, IN SEPTEMBER 1983, RESULTED IN AN INFLIGHT FAILURE.
(S/DG/767-83). (SWN)
