Chinese Communist MIG's have been reported patrolling over the mainland coast opposite the Tachens. However, the evacuation has remained unchallenged by nearby Communist forces through the fifth day of the operation. The evacuation of Nationalist guerrillas and civilians from Yushan and Pishan was completed on 9 February under the naval and air cover of the Seventh Fleet. Matsus Negative. Quemoy Communist fishing boats approached Tatan Island on 8 February, the second such reconnaissance in ten days.
