Purpose. This Notice promulgates wage changes for all Compositors, Bookbinders, Offset Photographers, Offset Platemaker-Strippers, Offset Strippers, Offset Pressmen, Cylinder Pressmen, Letterpress Photoplate- makers, Electrotypers, and Engineering Service Journeymen (Carpenters, Electricians, Painters, Pipefitters, Machinists, Stationary Engineers, Knife Grinders, Blacksmiths, Masonry Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics, Sheet Metal Mechanics, Welders, and Electronic Printing Equipment Technicians). 2. New Hourly Rates. As a result of a wage conference conducted under the authority of 44 U.S.C. 305, the hourly rates of pay for craftsmen, which are listed below, were approved by the Joint Committee on Printing on June 21, 1979, to be effective June 18, 1979. If that is not possible, the following paycheck will reflect all wages due as a result of the new rates. GPO 640-73 June 27, 1979 PSA 3. Premium Rates of Pay. The differential payment for tight work will be 15 percent. Work in excess of 8 hours per day or in excess of 40 hours per week will be compensated at one and one-half times the regular hourly rate. On holidays, in addition to gratuity pay, all hours worked will be compensated at one and one-half times the regular hourly rate. Painters will receive a 25 percent differential for actual hours worked in hazardous situations as defined in the 1979 wage settlement. 4. Employees Paid Percentages of Journeyman Rates. Offset Press Assistants; Apprentices, trainees in programs leading to journeyman proficiency; and premium keyworker positions whose wage rates were not increased earlier this year will be paid at new rates based on the journeyman rates listed above. They will continue to receive the percentage differentials they now receive. 5. Adjustments. All hourly wage rates will be adjusted to the nearest cent, counting one-half cent and over as a whole cent. 6. Cancellation. Ch.- $1.03 OVERTIME: Time and one half for all work in excess of 8 hours in one day or in excess of 40 hours in a week provided the employee is in actual work or standby status during the overtime hours. HOLIDAY PAY: In addition to gratuity pay, one and one half times the regular hourly rate for all hours worked. The Fair Labor Standards Act is applicable for overtime for Non-Exempt employees in any case where overtime pay would be greater.
