1. The IA; in June 1958, approved the EIC recommendations that
no report in the Rel Series be prepared in 1958, but that, in lieu
theeeof? selected agency reports on this subject be reviewed by the
appropriate EIC Subcommittee:a andpi:bashedwith Forewords noting con-
curreAces or reservations of the remiewing agencies; and that the EIC
iseur an annual summary of the principal conclusions and summary abate-
ments from the selected reeearch studies. As these studies have been
completed, they bete been reviewed by the EIC Subccomittees.
2. CIA/OBE proposes the attached draft Outline for the summery
report covering the major developments in Communist Chimes internee
tional trade and transport during 1957 and 1958. It also proposes
that the Outline be implemented according to the following time
schedules
