Approved For ReleQ&e 2001/09/0wk'b iI DP92B01090R002600080035-4 w Memo for the Record 26 November 1962 From: 1. BRASS KNOB missions flown on 25 November and planned for 26 November should, assuming reasonably good weather, yield as much as 95% coverage of Cuba. The basic target listing developed on 21-22 November remains the guide to priorities. 2. No low-level missions have been flown since 15 November, and 25X1A has been instructed to stop accepting or submitting targets for such missions until they are again authorized. The need for the program is spelled out in COMOR - approved by USIB on 21 November. My recommendations for targets would have been the following: Havana Port Casilda Port Casilda Staging Area Matanzas Port Santiago de Cuba Port 3. The limitations of BRASS KNOB coverage in port surveillance should become quite evident as the weekend missions are read out. Only low-level coverage could yield sufficient detailed information on materiel being shipped out or in. The 10 day gap in this coverage cannot be filled, but we ought to press for resumption of missions.
