1. Reference is made to the attached original copy of
Ref (a) received from the TCO/Navy for presentation to the
Utilization Advisory Board 19 July 1957; copies of this request
were also sent by the Navy to the TCO/USAF, to the TCO/USA
and Copy #2 is being retained by the TSO/CIA for inclusion in
our Navy file.
2. The Navy apparently has complied with the suggestions
outlined by the TSO/CIA in Ref (d); this called for the deletion.

3. Attention is called to the wording under Item 3, Ref (a),
to the effect: that if the request is approved, dissemination would
be made to the Commander, Sixth Fleet, and the Commanding
Officers of major units, such as carriers, cruisers, or Marine
Battalion Landing Teams under his control with access to the
personnel having no lower rank than pilots who require the
information for mission preparation.

SUBJECT: Navy Request for Utilization by Sanitization of

4. In view of the methods described by the Navy for
sanitization, the TSO/CIA concurs with the procedures as
outlined which appear to be acceptable from a TALENT
sanitization standpoint.
