MEMORANDUM FOR CHAPMAN, ARC
1. Reference is made to Draft Memorandum, subject "Requirement
for Geodetic Accuracy", dated 4 February 1958, paragraph 11. The
desired information has been plotted on the attached 17 WAC Charts.
2. The geodetic control points (astronomical and triangulation)
shown on these charts are those points which are available and offer
the possibility of photo identification for establishing greater geodetic
accuracy.
3. An operation covering the maximum number of these points would
provide the greatest probability for increasing the geodetic accuracy of
targets in the areas being considered.
L. In addition to the control points, targets in the Air Target
Material Program have been indicated on these charts. Information
directly related to the geodetic control of these targets is of prime
importance to the successful application of all weapon systems.
