Cn /r a T Approved For Release 2008/03/03: CIA-RDP92B0l090R002700030162-6 / 0 SECRET 0 21 October 1963 MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director (Science and Technology) SUBJECT: Use of 112A Camera 1. The mission on 13 October over Cuba has been reported. 24 out of 41 targets were collected against. 2. COMOR recommended on last Friday that a mission be accomplished against the remaining targets. That mission has not yet been reported. 3. The Photo Working Group at its meeting on 22 October will assess what targets in addition to those originally recommended should now be covered in the light of the performance of the camera. 4. At the board meeting last Wednesday, the Director raised the question of making a photographic mosaic of Cuba with the 112A. In view of the fac that the swath width is only 17 miles, the use of the camera for such a mosaic would not be -'n order because we can tell from the B configuration whether, indeed, any cultural development is going on and, therefore, be in a position to judge whether additional photography with the 112A is justified. However, I will check this opinion of mine with the COMOR at a special meeting that I am holding tomorrow, 22 October, at 10 a. in. situation in Cuba. 5. I have asked the Photo Working Group to provide by cob 22 October or as soon thereafter as possible a selection of targets in three priorities which the community will consider to be candidates for the use of 112A in the Far East. This then will be discussed on Thursday at COMOR in terms of whether we would recommend moving the 1.12A to the Far East, both in the light of those priorities and the Overhead Reconnaissonce . 4- I SA / DDS & T II dxciassttfcaiton Approved For Release 2008/03/03: CIA-RDP92B0l090R002700030162-6 Copies 1, 2 DDS&T 3 CIA Memb'xommitte cOMOR SECRET
