Removal of
1. In response to a request from the Office of the DCI,
Safety Division collected sections of filters from air handling
unit (AHU) #14 that services 7B, 7C & 7D corridors of the
Original Headquarters Building (OMB). In addition, filter
samples were collected from AHU #12, #13 & #9 which service 6C,
6D & 6E corridors. Recently, these areas underwent renovation
which included the removal of asbestos from the hot water pipes.
2. The air filter samples were sent to an EPA accredited
laboratory for bulk asbestos analysis. Results of the analysis
indicate that no asbestiform minerals were observed in any of
the samples. See attached lab results.
