SUBJECT: Solarz Withdraws Support of Diplomatic
Immunity Legislation
1. Previously we indicated that Representative Solarz was
considering whether to reintroduce the diplomatic immunity
legislation he sponsored last year along with Senator Helms in
the Senate.
2. Solarz' staff has now advised us that he has determined
not to introduce the legislation this session.
3. We will continue to monitor the Senate side to see what
action, if any, Senator Helms takes.
