Dear Julian:
The project you describe is indeed interesting, but also challenging
since meaningful results are hardly assured.
Regarding scientific areas, I was surprised you did not include some
areas relating to the material sciences--perhaps some topics in theo-
retical mechanics where a great deal is published.
I expect it will be hard to get people to help who SI-AT
are both available, broadly knowledgeable and have good perspective.
Of those on your list so far I can get most enthusiastic about
SI-AT
, but I would be surprised if you can get either
one to commit the amount of time you want. I think the track you
and are on--going after a scientist who is about to retire SI-AT
from an active position--is a good one. Why not ask Frank Press for
suggestions? I'll try to think of people?Tiiy177--------
Good luck.
Sincerely yours,
