1. SIGNIFICANCE: AN IRANIAN TROOP MOVEr1ENT IS IN PROGRESS NEAR
DEZFUL. (SWN)
2. REMAkKS: A CONVOY OF 28 BUSES (NOT ALL ON GRAPHIC) IS PARKED
IN THE BARRACKS AND AMMUNITION DEPOT 12 NM NORTHWEST OF THE
CITY. CARGO TRUCKS, A TF~UCK-MOUNTED CRANE, AND SMALL UTILITY
VEHICLES ALSO ARE IN THE FORMATION. APPROXIMATELY 100
PERSONNEL ARE NEAR THE BUSES. TWC ADDITIONAL BUSES EITHER ARE
ARRIVING OR DEPARTING. ALTHOUGH ZERG TO 20 BUSES NORMALLY ARE
SEEN HERE, CONVOY ACTIVITY IS UNUSUAL. THE TROOPS MAY BE EN
ROUTE TO OR FROM THE AL AMARAH BATTLE SECTOR ON THE IRAN-IRAQ
BORDER APPROXIMATELY 45 NM TO THE WEST, OR THIS ACTIVITY MAY BE
RELATED TO THE RECENT FIGHTING NEAR THE MAJNGON ISLANDS
APPROXIMATELY 90 NM TO THE SCUTH-SOUTHWEST. ACTIVITY APPEARS
TO BE NORMAL IN THE REMAINDER OF THIS INSTALLATION WHICH
PROBABLY SERVES AS THE PF.IMARY AMMUNITION STORAGE DEPOT FOR
IRANIAN FORCES IN THE AL AMARAH BATTLE SECTOF~. (SWN)
