1. INTRODUCTION
.sp
On February 11, 1991, the SQLbased IPS (Information Privacy System) became
ISD's (Information Services Division) operational system for the tracking and
reporting of Freedom of Information, Privacy Act and Executive Order requests.
This date concluded approximately ten weeks of dual processing on the new system
and its GIMS counterpart to ensure the accuracy of the system and provide
a smooth transition from the current mode of operation to the new system.
The Initial Operating Capability (IOC) date for the IPS was November 16,1990.

2. STATEMENT OF CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
.sp
The SQLbased IPS system has proven very effective and efficient for all ISD
users and component IRO support persons utilizing the system. The system
meets all functional requirements requested by ISD and stated in the System
Design Specifications. They include the case data storage/entry/update, menu
display, data search/retrieval, report generation and a help facility.
Additional criteria for measuring the success of the new system were:
o User attitude concerning the ease of use
o Report cababilities
o Effectiveness of data search and retrieval
o Data reliability
o Response time
o Number of concurrent users
After reviewing the above criteria, it is determined that the new IPS
System is complete and successful in fulfilling the system and user
requirements. The success of this project is due to the dedication, work
and cooperation of the DSG team and the ISD team.
