Follow-up Meeting with ITB r,e, computer
Yesterday I talked with the Chief programmer in ITB about the
results of last week's CCB meeting to see where they are in the devel-
opment of a system for HRB records. said they are only doing the
non-prograMming things now. They have sent a request to OIT to expand
the GIMS records in DECAL/ORIS. He has looked at the DECAL/ORIS code
to see how and where modifications can be made to meet our needs. He
will discuss the size of the system(i.e. how many years records need to
be on-line) with IPD to set up an off-line file for non-active records.
This should be done as one for the system, not one rule for HRB and
another for IPD. We think 3 years of on-line records is sufficient.
He still holds to 2-4 weeks as all that is necessary to make
the required modifications. He will not start however until we inform,
him of the results of our survey. He wants to do it all at one time
instead of doing some now and other later and maybe even undoing some
' of his earlier efforts. It seems to me we need to build a fire under'
some of OUT cohorts.
