Enclosed the expense reports on our mission to Panama. The overall
expenses fall well within the guideline you had spelled out in your
letter of July 27, but since either Stave or I paid some of the bills,
we reauest that payment be made to each of us as indicated in the
respective reports.
The trip itself was enormously productive, was extremely
helpful and set up meetings with all of the editors as well as with
a number of the most experienced monitors. We were also able to
interview personnel at the US embassy, including the ambassador,
Ambler Moss. Satisfied customers, we might mention in passing.
Because of our interviews at the embassy we stayed on through Wednesday
morking, taking the afternoon Braniff plane home. Through a quirk in
ticketing we still submit only the cut-rate $367, rather than the ordinary
tourist flight cost of $476.
We have spent this day in plOrting out the paramasters of the report and
hope to have same in your hands before the first-Of September.
It occurs to us that the October meeting of all the field editors might
be an ideal time to make a seminar presentation of our findings and
recommendations. That might be something to keep in
Thanks for all of your help in setting up this most important aspect
of our investigation.
