LOGNOTE -- Chief, Operations Group, 10 July 1985
1. (Lowcock) On 16 June I made a farewell call on Bahraini Minister
of Information Tariq Al-Mu'ayyid. During our talk, he advised
that he is planning a visit to Washington in October 1985. The
precise dates for the visit had not yet been fixed. While the
main purpose of the visit will be to visit the Smithsonian museums
in conjunction with a Bahraini museum project, he would also like
to visit FBIS Headquarters. Exact timing for the FBIS visit will
be coordinated with Bureau Chief-Designate I will
upcoming
Washington TDY. The minister will also be visiting USIA during
his stay in Washington.
