LOGNOTE -- Chief, Operations Group, 6 December 1983
1. Following from this morning's staff meeting:
-- There was discussion of State's attempts to block implementation
of the FBIS foreign national wage/classification system and State's
threat to withdraw administrative support. There will be a meeting
at State on 12 December at 1530 with D/Pers and the Undersecretary
for Administration.
-- DDA components are moving out of the Headquarters Building. OMS is
to move to F----]Building. Horrors! DDO is protesting.
-- There is still no decision on
things will be okay.
though Fitzwater says
-- Fritz Ehrmarth will become NIO for USSR. I will
become DD/OTE.
-- The NID is to be revitalized. Casey doesn't like it. Who does?
-- DD/S$T has contracted for five sessions of the "Urban Awareness"
seminar at Harpers Ferry.
-- Our new Contractin Officer, is on board and stationed
in SDS space. from , wi join FBIS shortly to take
responsibility for ongoing systems, including Wang. This will get
out of the maintenance business to allow more time for
MIDAS developments.
-- The '85 Congressional budget has gone forward.
-- A message will go to the field and Hqs. components today asking for
contributions to the '86 budget and plan some time in January.
