The FIF Film-Loan Archival System, LOANARCFIF, is divided into four programs,
each performing a specific function.
The first program, LOANARCFIF, reads the NPIC data base and creates a file
(FIF*TEMPLOAN) containing the film-loan records.
The next program, LOANRPTFIF sorts the temporary loan records by mission num-
ber, control number-ID, and return date. A report is printed containing informat-
ion on each entry.
The third program, LOANMRGFIF, merges the records of the temporary loan
file with the existing history file, in the order mentioned above. The history
file is then read to be sure no errors occur.
The fourth and last program, LOANDELFIF, purges all the film-loan records
merged into the history tape from the NPIC data base.
