SUBJECT: Reporting Unauthorized Disclosures to the
Information Security Oversight Office from
1 April 1984 - 30 September 1984
1. The following information is provided to you to
fulfill the Agency's reporting requirement to the Information
Security Oversight Office for an unclassified report giving
the number of unauthorized disclosures referred to the
Department of Justice.
2. During the period from 1 April 1984 - 30 September
1984, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) reported a total
of 22 items to the Department of Justice which were con-
sidered to be unauthorized disclosures from the media. These
items were all investigated within the Agency before being
sent to the Department of Justice.
3. Of these 22 cases, at the time of this report, the
Department of Justice disposition is as follows:
No investigation undertaken
