MEADE, MARYLAND 20755 SUBJECT: Request for Indoctrination Authorization (U) Commander Detachment G US Army Operational Group Fort Meade, MD 20755 23 February 1982 1. (C) Reference: Meeting and discussion of LTC's Jachim, Project GRILL FLAME; Hartzell, Command Psychologist, USAINSCOM; and Smay, Great Skill (GS) Program on 22 February 1982. 2. (U) During reference, the possibilities of expanded usage of GS personnel in support of Project GRILL FLAME (GF) was discussed and deemed beneficial to both the GS program and GF project. 3. (U) Also discussed was the benefit to GF of using GS division recruiters to expand GF's access to Army MI personnel by permitting plausible and indirect access to MI warrant officers and non-commissioned officers, a here- tofore relatively untapped source of potential GF operatives. Commander, USAASD, on 23 February, concurred in the use of GS division personnel in the course of their recruiting duties to spot, approach and do a preliminary, assessment of persons seeming to be suited for Project GF. 4. (C) To accomplish successfully the matters proposed in paragraphs 2 and 3 above, request the following GS division personnel receive a general indoctri- nation of the mission/functions of Project GRILL FLAME and a description of the personnel profile against which GF operatives are identified and recruited: Major Richard Hutchison ,--CW4 Peter Conway 1-SGM Harry Kreger 5.
