Approved For Release 2QQ{SRI 1(3I07 CIA t OP'966100788RO01500170021-6. Memo SG1J 5 er?1 To : Date : 29-04-1988 From : Ed May Location : G-201 Subject : Response to your 9/29/88 FY 1988 Research Memo Cc: Cathy Flowers As per agreement the analytics program will come to an end by close of business, 7 October The screening task scheduled for 11 October 1988 is being done at 2000 hours on SRI 3 a{ /6 :3 S International personnel's private time. One half of one hour is required for analysis of this data. -- (Phase I screening tasks are NOT blind judged and do not require much time for analysis.) H ~ Therefore virtually no FY 1989 moneys or time are required. ,%4 Due to scheduling constraints at Los Alamos National Laboratory and with Joe, we will 'f /{ A- ~nf~I C, conduct the "Psi" protocol with the MEG on 18-21 October 1988. No costs will be incurred from our FY 1989 budget. Two staff members, May and Luke, will not be available for FY 1989 sf~5/Sr5 project work from 17-21 October. 1988. [The time lost because of the experiment and its subsequent analysis time will be reimbursed on an hour-by-hour basis by project personnel. .s ~ we r r Therefore no time or funding from the FY 1989 will be expended to accomplish, this task. L7 Judging from the current progress of report writing, 1/3 time to October 17, 1988 is needed ? in order to finish the writing-we have that amount of money in FY 1988 funds. Beyond October 17, 1988 very minimal Project 1291 time will be spent by the Cognitive Sciences Program staff on FY 1988 reports. After the SOC meeting, minor chances that might be required to the reports will not detract from FY 1989 business. ,/ ~oJ ~V ~dVlC-;~ GwJ I am unable to provide you official accounting figures by close of business 30 October 1988. If necessary, we will be able to provide you approximate numbers since the official accounting figures are not available until 3 October 1988. I suggest that, if you can wait, you allow us to provide you with the official figures by close of business day Monday, 3 October 1988. In fulfilling the requirement dictated by our contract, it is my responsibility to provide you with whatever figures you need to track the progress of your project technically and financially. I will do so. As you know, we have set up a series of 900 subs for our internal accounting purposes. The only moneys that are contained in those subs is for FY 1989. Would your requirements (memo of 9/29/88) be satisfied with a weekly accounting of these subs through November 4, 1988 (end of the SOC meeting)?
