(U) Attached are three memorandums on briefings presented during the week of 3-7 October. 1933 to the Secretary of the Army, Senator Wallop, and Congressional Staffers. P.rebriefs were presented to COL Hyman, DCSOPS, INSCOM on 3 October 1983, and BG Shufelt., Deputy ACSI, DA on 4 October 1.983. 2. (U) Support to Dr. Vorona, Assistant Vice Director for Scientific and Technical Intelligence, Defense Intelligence Agency during the briefings for Senator Wallop and the Congressional Staffers was done at the direction of MG Stubblebine. After each briefing, I informed CPT Post, Aide-de-Camp to MG Stubblr:.bine, of the results of our efforts. She in turn provided the information to MG Stubbiebine who was TDY. Our participation in the Congressional briefings was coordinated with DAMI-ISH, ACSI who obtained the necessary approval. 3. (S/CL--2/NOFORN) In addition to direct INSCOM involvement in three briefings, Dr. Vorona presented two separate briefings on 3 October 1983 to the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Dr. Richard De Lauer; and the Director of Central lnt:e.lliglence (DCI) and members of his staff. A:u a result of his briefing to Dr. De Lauer, Dr. Vorona received $600,000 Program 6 money to continue his program. During both briefings, Dr. Vorona made general statements concerning INSCOM's successes using remote viewing as an intelligence collection tool and recommended that both principals receive the INSCOM CENTER LANE briefing, Mr. Casey and Dr. De Lauer indicated they would be receptive to such a briefing.
