SUN STREAK Operations Report CY8602 (U)
1. (S/SK/WNINTEL) In response to your request for information
concerning a suspected nuclear event
a. (S/SK/WN.INTEL) Source tends to confirm the suspected
nuclear event. Source describes the area - as having a
structure (not further identified). At approximately
an event of some magnitude
occurred, perhaps involving this structure, which source
described as bright warm colors, loud rumble noises, and whirling
sooty, gritty sensations. Source commented that this was very
much like a dust storm or an explosion. People involved with
this event (not further identified) were surprised by its
occurrence. Prior to the event people were relaxed, watchful,
even bored. There was a sudden clatter (not further identified)
which surprised the people who began running back and forth.
Source further described the temperature at this point in the
event as being hot (not further identified).
b. (S/SK/WNINTEL) Source provided no further amplifying
information in response to your request. Source provided no
information on the size of crater, depth of explosion, or yield
of explosion.
