Summary of Information
Site involves a large, rectangular structure of several
floors or levels. The top levels are full 'of dividers that are
moveable., stanchions, lighting, cubicles, and narrow halls or
passageways that are twisting and turning but always following
right angles---almost labyrinthian. ;Though the overall cover
scheme of the interior and exterior of the structure is oriented
to neutral beiges and greys, inside there are still lots of
colors in specific,-defined locations. On the ground floor there
is a sense of spaciousness- alost cavernous,-+,hough it is, 4-
carpeted, decorated, and pleasantly appointed. There is a desk
at a, distance across a wide open space behind which sits someone
who is meant to be helpful. Diffused lighting is emphasized.
Inside. is a calm, 'quiet, library-like atmosphere, with a sense, of .,
quiet pursuits, a bookish sort of feeling----in fact, books seem to,
be an.element here. Location reminds me of Stanford U. library,..,,
The surroundings are landscaped, extensive, with a plaza and
trees, walkways, and at least one bike rack. The exterior walls,,,,.
of the structure are purposefully textured--like a bas relief or
frieze has been impressed or carved into a masonry surface.
the immediate vicinity of the structure is a further structure or
series ofobj,ects with a "serrated" dimensionality about.it.--

series of pointed, triangular shapes that seem to be on top of
something, a.s on a roof. They seem to be shiny and ribbed, and
may contain glass.
There is a further sense of "alternative Nosiness" feel
about it, like there's a sort of commercial necessity t
the
enterprise, but this commercial aspect is submerged in the
primary activity that occurs here. An analogy would be an art,
museum that must make some money to stay in operation but whose
main focus is art.
