Last sighted at 1326N 8032W. EEI: 1. Is it carrying contraband drugs? 2. What does the vessel look like? 3. What are its intentions? 4. Provide any additional information available. Approved For Release 2000/08/08 :CIA-RDP96-007898001100650002-7 Approved For Release 2000/08f08 :CIA-RDP96-007898001100650002-7 Feedback on JT4-$1-90 (26 Jul 90) SG1A OOG: (261130 JUL 90) The has black lower sides and an orange stem. Its acitvity is simply transportation. It is carrying a minimal amount of drugs for pleasure and not business purposes. Juice can be found aboard this vessel. SG1A OOB: (261108 JUL 90) The M/V is a large vessel with black hull, bordered by a brawn or honey-brawn band along the top of the hull, and a white superstructure. It has at least two interior "floors" of storage space, possibly three. It is carrying at least three individual shipments of contraband drugs (possibly more, but only three were detected). They are: 1. On the 2nd "floor", approximately 100 ft from the front of the ship, a shipment of black 55-gal drums contains an estimated 5 drums which contain drugs. The contents of these drums appear to be (estimated from indistinct image) plant cuttings of some type (NFI). The drugs are in plastic-wrapped packages in the bottom of the 5 or so drums. The contraband, itself, looks like light brown blobs of "cactus candy". 2. On the same floor, much further to the rear of the ship, and on the right side, a shipment which contains tar paper, woad, and other standard building materials also contains drugs which appear to be in solid "whipped foam" form, and is believed to be mixed in with the insulation portion of the shipment. 3. On either the bottom or 2nd floor is a shipment of typewriters which contains a small shipment of drugs poorly disguised in the typewriter cases. There are indications that the shipment of typewriters is the one which the smugglers expect to have found, should the ship be boarded, and will be used as a decoy to still get the other shipments processed through to their individual destinations. There are further indications that, although same people aboard know of the shipments, the entire crew is not aware of their existance. OOD: 261325E July 90 Target vessel is large, dark blue and has a deep hull. There are two curved, tall, rectangular, solid objects (like smokestacks) protruding upwards, near the rear of the superstructure, and three smaller rounded things an deck (see sketch page 9C). There are some portholes an the side of the hull. This vessel is carrying drugs, possibly marijuana. They are located in the superstructure, towards the front of the ship under one of the rounded things. The people on this vessel need cash. Their intensians are to take the drugs into port, sell them and "get rich". They are heading northeast with a possible destination of Jamaica. OOF: (251340 JUL 90) The target is an extremely large freighter. There is something Approved For Release 2000/08/08 :CIA-RDP96-007898001100650002-7 Approved For Release 2000/08/08 :CIA-RDP96-007898001100650002-7 odd or unique about the stern. The hull is two-tone; a red lower section and a light gray upper section. The super structure is light gray ar dirty white, as is the smoke stack. The stack is slanted and/or aval in shape. It also has a red ban pained midway. The characters "30" ar "BO" appear somewhere on the vessel. The super structure is either a split bridge type or a fore bridge with a large object on deck near the stern. The vessel has twa self-contained cranes ar support/loading systems midship. The vessel is rather old. The vessel is carrying a large quantity of marijuana. The contraband is located in two areas of the ship (see diagram). There will be a transfer at sea. The contraband will be aff loaded via a large side door onto smaller metal hulled vessels. This transfer will occur within sight of land and in an area of numerous small islands. Nearby beaches or exposed sand bars are extremely white and of an extremely fine grained sand/soil. This is a very professional operation. The words/terms associated with this operation are DOTSA, DOBSA, SAN DOBOSO, DOBASO, SANTA DE BASA ar DE BASO and de Muellar. Approved For Release 2000/08/08 :CIA-RDP96-007898001100650002-7
