Approved For Release 2004/08/25 : CIA-RDP96-00789R003600350002-3 Project: 91002 Dated: 910206 Time: 1028-1118 Viewer: 018 Session: 01 Monitor: None "A bombed location will be suspected of being Hussein's location. Rumors will spread that he has been bombed." (Predicted to happen on 7 FEB 91). No news item of any such rumors has surfaced to date. It is assumed that any such rumor would have made the news. "A large plane skids to a landing, with all on board surviving. Could not determine location of event." (Predicted to happen on 7 FEB 91). PARTIAL HIT. CNN reported that on 7 FEB 91, a cargo plane skidded to a landing in Iraqi territory, and that the passengers were rescued. One was killed. Item 1.c.: "A taped recording will show a missile just taking off from an Iraqi site right before one of our missiles hits the site." (Predicted to happen on 7 FEB 91). HIT. CNN reported that on 7 FEB 91, an attacking plane's video record showed a SCUD missile being launched toward Saudi Arabia, just as the plane's missile approached and destroyed the launch site. Item 1.d.: "There was a visual of Hussein in full uniform, making a formal speech. This speech appeared to be a call for peace, but still a refusal to withdraw from Kuwait." (Predicted to happen on 7 FEB 91). HIT. On 12 FEB 91, CNN repeated an Iraqi telecast of a meeting which took place "some days ago" (CNN's words), showing Hussein with his cabinet of high-ranking military advisors. This meeting stressed the news that Russia had offered to help make peace. There was no consideration of getting out of Kuwait. The fact that Hussein was in "full uniform" was also pointed out by CNN, as it panned around the room, noting that most of the advisors were sitting at the meeting table with heavy overcoats. The conclusion was drawn that Hussein's headquarters had no heat. The location appeared to be either in England or France." (Predicted to happen on 7 FEB 91). PARTIAL HIT. On 7 FEB 91, there were two terrorist attacks. One in England, where IRA terrorists lobbed mortar rounds into the back yard of 10 Downing St. This was not war- related. Another, which was war related, took place in Turkey, when terrorists attacked and killed an American in his private car. No feedback has been gained on the type or style of the car. Item 3.a: "A question surfaces about the number of coalition casualties inflicted by U.S. "friendly fire". (Predicted to happen in the time frame of 7-9 FEB 91). APPARENT MISS: No news item concerning this has arisen during this time frame, but there are indications that the subject had already arisen before the time of the session. Item 3.b. "There was a sudden, strong impression of a factory in ruins in the morning light." PROBABLE HIT: Although no specific instance was shown on TV or mentioned in the newspaper, it is logical to assume that bombing of the type going on during Iraq during that time frame would produce at least one hit on a factory.
