Approved For Release 2003/09/16 : CIA-RDP96-00791 R000200190032-2 Confidential DRAFT Survey Background This survey is designed to assess the potential customer interest in an unconventional collection method. A team of individuals claiming to have paranormal capabilities has been engaged in the collection of information which some past customers have found to have intelligence value. Using a variety of approaches, the individuals do what is called "remote viewing" of target objects or scenes of interest; they concentrate on information supplied to them in various forms relating to a particular target and then provide sketches and verbal descriptions of what they are able to view. The individuals can be tasked at their fixed location in the Washington area to view targets anywhere in the world. As a customer you can provide the team with any information about the targets you desire. Working separately, they in turn attempt to answer whatever questions you provide to the extent they are able. The current personnel acknowledge that this method has a highly variable reliability. You will be allowed to judge the effectiveness of this method, however, prior to completing this survey if you desire. A briefing is available which will describe the method, past results, and some of the customer feedback received so far. If you believe that regardless of the briefing, this method is uninteresting to you or that it would be unsuitable given your operational requirements, please respond that you do not want the briefing and that you are not interested in this service. Survey questions (check all that best apply): 1. I do not want the briefing and I am not interested in these services (your survey is complete at this point). 2. I requested the briefing and I am responding to the survey in part on the basis of what I learned at that briefing (skip to #4). 3. I did not request the briefing but I am responding to the remaining survey questions anyway. 4. I used these services in the past and found them to be useful. 5. I used these services in the past and found them to be useless.
