how he reaches that figure... . .-
That is because this year, as in
years past, spending figures for vari-
ous elements of the nation's farflung
intelligence operations will be hidden
away under other names in budge-
tary nooks and crannies of other
proograms.
While Carter has said he. would
make ppblic an overall figure and his
director of intelligence. Adm..Stans-
field Turner, has agreed, the admin,
istration remains opposed to break-
ing down the total into any further
